Students from the University of Colorado College of Nursing and Central Colorado AHEC have partnered in developing this site to offer food pantries, grocery stores and consumers a quick way to use food items commonly found in food pantries to make healthy meals. Have a bountiful supply of tomatoes?—there are recipes for that. Mangoes? There are recipes for that! Financial challenges don’t need to lead you down a road to obesity and chronic disease! Use our website to eat delicious and low sodium, low fat and low sugar meals. It is accessible to you anytime. Print what you like—tell others!
The R.I.C.H. Cookbook was created to help our community members find healthy recipes for their families, utilizing common ingredients obtained from local food pantries. This free, online recipe database is the collaborative result of students studying Public Health at Central Colorado Area Health Education Center (AHEC).
